bail bond betty

Gettin' ready for court. I fancy my court appearance to be pretty fly despite puffy eyes and the giant jail boil on my chin that yesterday, in my anxiety, I picked into scabrous oblivion. Better pack some candy in case I end up in jail tonight and regret not grabbing my last chance for an M&M:

Soon I will find out whether I will be prosecuted or the District Attorney will drop the felony charges. Ugh, how distasteful that I even have to think about those boring legal words. Out with "own recognizance." In with "puissance." Out with "remand." In with "undine."

Do not prosecute!

Pray for mojo.

Update: The D.A. has rejected the case against me. I am free. I wish the same outcome for Marty and have no intention of pursuing any further legal action. I would not wish entanglement in the widening gyre of the American legal system upon my worst enemy.

It was incredibly naive of me not to realize that my blog entry about this incident would become tabloid fodder. That was not my intention. I consider the small circle of people who frequent this LJ to be a support group; the much larger world of tabloid readers is certainly not. I will never speak of this again, nor malign Marty in this space. And tomorrow this'll be fishwrap.

Expect few updates to this journal in the next couple of weeks as I will be untangling the web of seven years of cohabitation with my ex-boyfriend, packing up my shit, and thickening up a plot to travel and work in more temperate climes.

Congrats and best of luck. I'm burning a Shins CD cover in effigy right now. You need some time and space to realign.

Congrats and I hope everything works out in the end and you can leave this awful moment in the past.

Because, let's be honest, no one looks good in orange.

Elyse can look good in orange!! Check those photos of her from HK Cosmo a few posts down. She can rock orange.

I think jumpsuits are a far bigger fashion crime, myself.

Congratulations on the results of court. I'm very glad no charges were brought, and have a great deal of respect for your plans for the future.

Glad it all worked out for you, Elyse :)

Wow, M&M's in your purse... you really thought of everything! :O Would it make it worth it, going to jail, if you got the chance to eat just a couple more M&Ms before you were locked up though?

hang in there, lady. tomorrow will always be a better day, and no matter what happens, you will always be amazing in the eyes of everybody. hopefully this debacle will fizzle out of the public eye, since it's really nobodies business, anyway. take care of yourself, i look forward to reading of your exploits in the future.

It's 70 in NYC in January for the second year in a row. May as well enjoy it before the sea claims it for herself.

Never fear. It will only last a day or two, and then you'll be freezing your tails all over again.

At least that's what happened to those of us to the west of you.

I am glad that you do not have to spend any more time in Jail. I know that this is a hard time and that untangling lives can be difficult, I wish the best for you and hope you find a warm climate! I am getting sick of the cold myself, but I guess Denver has been lucky so far this winter.

Congratulations on the auspicious outcome, thus far. I hope closing up these loose ends (the separation of items, moving, etc.) is as painless as it can be, and that those M&Ms didn't/don't stain the inside of your purse. (Melt in your mouth, not in your hand my ass.)

woo! congratulations, i'm glad you're done with at least that aspect of the whole thing. and looking mighty sleek, i might add. although i must ask: m&m's supposedly "melt in the mouth but not in the hand" - but what about in the purse?

Oh, it surely would've gone unnoticed if I hadn't blogged about it, and I'm sorry that I had to embarrass and belabor Marty's employers by attracting slavering smutrags. I am happy because now I am accountable for going to Oregon, packing my shit, and leaving, instead of deciding it's cool and sticking around.

Hey,
Just wanted to say good for you on the not blogging about the incident, and good for you with your attitude to marty's case - you could not be more sensible and adult about this.
Always knew you were the only woman to make it onto ANTM who actually has a brain!

I've been reading for a while, and i like the style of your writing, it brightens my day :)

That is a killer court ensemble. When I went to court for some collision mess, my mom kept yelling "YOU HAVE TO LOOK NICE!" When I got there, no one had their teeth, so I don't know why I had to look fancy. Oh well. So it's nice to see people dressed up.

I'm glad it worked out for you and I wish you the best of luck getting everything sorted out.

[info]elysesewell

January 9 2008, 06:01:12 UTC 4 years ago

You have to look fancy because it gives you confidence! I get it from my mama: I rocked a fresh sailor suit on the first day of school from preschool all the way through college. OK, maybe not through college. But even then I always wore my fanciest shit to final exams. Something about fancy clothes gives you good posture and makes your brain clearer. Or maybe nylons just constrict the bloodflow to your lower extremites, empowering the (ewww, I have a choice between repeating the word "brain" and using a synonym. What choices do I have? What choices beyond) noodle.

Ugh! Noodle!

PS My mom always dresses her fanciest when she goes to the hairdresser. She INSISTS you get a better haircut that way.

PPS "Fancy" = an all-time fave word.

Hip Hip Hurrah for Elyse!

I've had my fingers crossed that everything would work out alright.

I wish you luck in closing this unfortunate chapter in your life and starting on the first few pages to an amazing new one.
